So I am writing to you all about college life, it's pretty much a rush. you have to get to classes on time, take quizes in 5 minutes and understand all that a teacher says. I am taking an Anatomy and Physiology class from this dude named Tony Trimm..he speaks very fast and is sometimes hard to understand..he is also intimidating..but short people usually are. Don't get me wrong, he is a cool guy-he know his stuff---cause he kinda has to, but his teaching techniques are different from those that I am used to. I really like the class it is soo interesting, but it is a lot of information coming at you all at once. I am very determined to make it through with a good passing score.
One thing about college also..you are supposed to learn how to think a certain way..think critically within a short amount of time..grr..I am going to get it..it's just I haven't learned the skill yet. My boyfriend knows it and he probably doesn't even realize it...of course he is a brain with feet but.. he gets it. And that is a reason I have him!
I am really enjoying the college experience so far..I need to keep enjoying it even though it's not always going to be easy, because it really hasn't. But I need to keep reminding myself-and God keeps reminding me-that I need to take it a step at a time, look at now and not at the end- because I will feel so inferior to what lies ahead. I will get it someday and I will be successful. Keeping my relationship with God alive has kept me sane so far.yeah I know it's only been 2 weeks but still! it's so important.
My room is pretty nice..it's a little dull due to the fact my roomate doesn't want to decorate..which I sorta have a problem with..so my side of the room totally rocks. and it will get better. I have made a few friends now and am slowly learning how to not want to be with Joseph all the time..
A little about that: When we got here I wasn't used to him being around but not with just me. It was hard to adjust but I realized, and he helped me realize, that I need to be less dependant on him for my social needs and he wants to have his "guy" space- which I totally respect-and he made it clear to me that he wants to be with me, just not all the time. and when we do get to be together it's more magical and meaningful. I have to learn this balance thing and it sucks hearing the truth from him but I am a little clingy! not physically but emotionally..and I need to veer away from that. He is just so amazing and I love him..he is exactly what I need because he is not giving me what I want- when I want it--he is giving me what I want when I need it. if that makes sense..it does to me!
The campus here is gorgeous it is very spread out..emphasis on spread..and there are LOTS of stairs. lol. I go to Southern Adventist University btw. and so I have a class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-7:50 Am and it is in the wellness center which is at the bottom of campus and then at 8 I have a Bible class at the top of campus so I have to run up lots of stairs and my surals(calfs) burn! haha I learned that in a&. and then Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I have a class from 9-9:50 Am on one end of the Prominade( a pathway in which the majority of the class buildings are on- it's about a 1/4 of a mile) and then a class at 10 on the other end of the Prominade..I am going to be in shape!
so this is a little about my college life so far. I will try to write as I get time away from my books.. I am in a very love/hate relationship with them because they are very demanding in the fact that I need to read them in order to graduate..haha. plus my a& book weighs 5 pounds pretty much.
